CalBEM Project: Open-Source Data Visualization for BEM Quality Assurance
This QA toolset helps energy modelers gain deeper insight into their CBECC models by extracting and visualizing energy model data, and consists of the CalBEM Dashboard Launcher desktop app + (3) new T24 compliance data dashboards on www.BEMToolBox.com. These tools work for CBECC 2022 (except multifamily). Funded by Southern California Edison (SCE) and built by Zero Envy.
The desktop app helps to get model and results data, primarily through CSV files automatically generated during a simulation. It uploads the data files to the cloud and each of three dashboards are generated from an analysis of the data. The dashboards are:
- Energy Results Dashboard: Parses hourly energy results data along with each of the compliance metrics and breaks down the results through various dynamic visualizations.
- Space Data Dashboard: Parses space-level data for indoor lighting and ventilation rates (both of which could help or harm model performance).
- HVAC Data Dashboard: Parses capacity information for fans, heating coils and cooling coils for Proposed and Baseline (aka Standard Design) systems.
